Rachel Hassan, CRNP, hails from Passaic, New Jersey, and was brought up in a rich Hispanic heritage. Her journey into the medical field was fueled by her marriage to a military soldier, which led her to El Paso, TX, where she embarked on her nursing path. Rachel earned an Associate’s degree in Nursing from El Paso Community College and commenced her career as a labor and delivery nurse. In 2001 she relocated to Wurzburg Germany and worked at a military hospital in a Family Birthing Center for four years.
After a series of professional accomplishments across various locations, Rachel relocated to Maryland in 2005, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Regis University. Her unyielding pursuit of education continued with a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from Walden University in 2016. Most recently, in 2022, she attained a Family Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care Post Graduate certificate from Purdue University, solidifying her board certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is also credentialed in Inpatient Obstetrics Nursing (RNC-OB).
Rachel’s expansive 22-year nursing journey, predominantly within labor and delivery, culminated in her joining The Children’s Doctor in April 2023. A nurse educator for new employee orientation and an OB Clinical Instructor, her expertise shines through. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is an active member of professional organizations, including the National Society of Leadership and Success and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.
Rachel finds fulfillment in family moments, surrounded by her husband, two sons, two grandchildren, and a beloved Yorkie. Cooking, traveling, and bike riding bring her joy. Rachel’s transition into pediatrics is a seamless fit, and she anticipates a gratifying journey with The Children’s Doctor, dedicated to the pediatric population.
